From Playful parenting
“I knew a couple who lived on a street with lots of children but who didn’t have any themselves. Their porch and yard became a congregating point for the children in the neighborhood, mainly because the husband was so playful. One time the wife asked everyone if they wanted lemonade, and after she went in to make it, one of the children said to her husband, ” You mom is really nice.” “
Simple, hilarious, yet very true; being playful makes us “one of the gang”. Although more often that happens to non-parents than parents, I believe that being playful/wild will get us – parents, a ticket to one (or more) of our children mind stations, much faster than we could have done otherwise.
Happy playing 🙂
